Why Every Book Is Licensed CC BY-NC-ND 4.0
All 68 books are free to read, share, and cite. But not to sell or modify. Here is why Creative Commons was the right choice.
Free to Read. Free to Share. Not Free to Steal.
Every book on this website is published under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).
What this means:
You CAN:
- Read every book for free, in full, on this website
- Share links to any book, chapter, or page
- Cite passages with proper attribution
- Reference the work in academic papers, reviews, or articles
- Download EPUBs and print-ready PDFs for personal use
You CANNOT:
- Sell any of the content or charge for access
- Modify the text and distribute altered versions
- Claim the work as your own
- Use commercially without explicit written permission
Why Not Just "All Rights Reserved"?
Because "all rights reserved" creates friction. It makes people afraid to share, cite, or reference the work. CC BY-NC-ND removes that friction while maintaining control.
The goal is maximum reach with maximum protection. Readers can freely share and discuss the work. But no one can profit from it or alter it without permission.
The Attribution Requirement
When citing or sharing, include:
© Atharva Inamdar. Licensed under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.
